Wrecked Cove!
Erin, Josh, Geoff and I went to Wreck Cove to get the heck out of town for the weekend. One cabin, four people, four dogs, one wood stove, and a lot of good times.
The only thing that was lame was the very intoxicated man in the cabin next door to ours kept coming by for a "visit"- and not taking the hint that we were not interested in forging a friendship. He was pretty harmless, but very, very incapacitated. He was making me really incensed with his repeated comments about "stealing my huskies". We promptly sent him on his merry way.
Highlight- Josh stating that "Luna's breath smells like Cuba.", but Erin replying that no, it was more like the smell of lobster traps piled up near a barn in the summertime. I have since gone to the pet store to buy Luna some dental chews.
Luna loved this spot and became a huge Josh fan!
Luna appears to have had one too many Oland Exports. Nah, she's just stoked that she gets such an awesome Gotcha Day weekend; that's right, we have had her for a whole year!

Spring stuffs.
Just a mix of stuff from the past few weeks...
Had a fun weekend hanging out with E & J... They came over Saturday, we went to the dog park Sunday and then out for greasy breakfast. Awesome peeps, for sure. We had a not so fun time at the dog park, there were a few people who should have their ability to own pets, and even a pet rock, revoked!
Me @ the dog park. New signage!

Blaaahg.
I went to the capital three times in the past two months and all I got was this crappy photo of the parliament buildings I took with my cell phone camera. The weather was so nice I was walking around with just a sweater- during the first week of March I found this impressive. We had toyed with the idea of maybe moving there someday, but I don't think that's in the cards right now.

And now for a few requisite photos of my babies....
Sola contemplating life
Other than that, the week hasn't been so bad. I think I need to change the way I am dealing with things, and leave things where they belong. Cryptic enough? I also went to a boot camp last night, which was hard as hell but felt really worth the hard work.

Molting
For anyone who considers getting northern breed dogs as pets, especially in multiples... Please have a gander at this bale of husky undercoat that is taking up half my kitchen floor. This was only after about 15 minutes of brushing. Holy mess! If you can't stand dog hair, this is not the breed for you!

Life
It's making me feel like this of late:
Confused. Melancholy. Perplexed. Apprehensive. Indecisive. Skittish. Immobile. Wonky. Burnt out. Topsy-turvy. Disgusted. Excited. Bizarre. Nervous. Shakey. Inquisitive. Morose. Satisfied. Dissatisfied. Annoyed. Irritated. Overconfident. Underconfident. Kooky. Afraid. Bored. Mostly... Confused.

Goats
Have nothing to do with this post.
I just got back from another trip to Ottawa. At least this time I got to do a few fun things rather than rush around to not sleep, foggily attend a meeting, commiserate a bit with colleagues and scram- only to wait in an airport for hours upon hours. Went out for lunch with Darlene at a cool little Lebanese resto, did a bit of shopping at the Rideau Centre, and went to see a slick jazz trio at the National Arts Centre, which was part of the Ottawa Jazz Festival series. It was a treat- not knowing much about them other than the fact that they were Dutch, and then the whole shabang turned out to be great. I hung out with a British fellow named David who was about my dad's age and turned out to be a big jazz fan. So we chatted about music and he bought me a beer. Was nice to share the concert with someone, albeit a complete stranger with whom I shared a certain sympatico. All in all a good experience.
In other news, we found a home for Neela a few weeks ago! Geoff and I drove to Antigonish to have her meet her new family, a nice couple from Halifax. They all look very happy! As much as it stunk (perhaps literally) to have four dogs running around the house, I do miss that girl and her silly antics. She climed into baskets like a cat. I think it was purely to get away from my guys... But towards the end she and Luna were pals. If we didn't already have three, I would have kept her for sure. Four was too much. I hope she's having a great life with this couple.
This past weekend, before I left for Ottawa I had a 12+ hour date with Erin. First was her doing my hair at her awesome new salon, Elements. Then we went to the mall. Then pizza. Then dog date. Then finally some drinks before going to see her hubby Josh's band (Liquid Vapours) play at the Upstairs as part of the ECMA weekend. The fact that I "forgot" I would be on an airplane the next day was apparent.

There were lots of blurry photos of Josh's band like this. Good lawd.
I also started playing soccer a few times a week at the new dome at CBU. The first time was fantastic, the second I think I pulled or tore a muscle in my quad and/or hip flexor. The pain! I also got the wind knocked out of me which is ever so pleasant. Onwards and upwards, I'm not giving up yet- the first time was too much fun to let a rotten game spoil it!
And so concludes this post. What could this weekend bring? Ooooh.
