Swap!

I had a little clothing swap on Wednesday. Girly good times, I say. Ladies walked away with some pretty good finds and the rest is being donated to charity.

"Do these fit, yeahhh!!"

Great big pile o clothes

Tonight folks are coming over for the Mount Westa Harvesta. We are going to spend the day making some food!!

More hikes

Went on a hike today at Lighthouse point with coworkers and some babies and dogs! I think we looked like quite a crew but it was a great time.

I'm also soooo proud of Luna for being such a good girl and not getting her knickers in a knot over having other dogs around. After some rocky intros, she was doing great and was indifferent to the other dogs. I think she will eventually come around and be friendly, but I will totally settle for indifference for now!

Yesterday was a big day of running around. I ordered my Halloween costume this past week and had to get a dress as part of it. We're going to the Keltic Lodge with Darren and Ruth for a murder mystery weekend! I think Merr and I might also go to the masquerade party at the CBU art gallery. Did I mention how much I love Halloween? It's pretty much the best time of year ever.

I'm having a clothing swap here on Wednesday. I hope it goes ok- it only works if more than 3 people come haha.. I was hoping the middle of the week would be better for people. We'll see!

Footie?

We drove to Antigonish to see the Saint Mary's vs St. FX game. Ironic that I brought a husky to a huskies game, and was brandishing a husky tattoo.. Wouldn't you think I was a big football fan? I even married a (former) football player. But alas, try as I may, I can't grasp the finer rules of the game. I mean, anyone can get the main concept. But the strategies and calls, I am at a loss. Might as well be water polo or cricket.

Even so, had a fun time, and we brought the dogs. Pretty sure they understood the game more than I did.

It's like chess but faster, with gigantic men on fake grass.

This morning we got up and went out for brunch. I had eggs benedict (with tomato instead of ham or back bacon) which was pretty good. Really trying to eat more eggs. I mostly hate their slimy texture. But I'm getting over it due to necessity as they are a good protein source for me right now. Still ick.

Birthdays and Baddeck

Yesterday was pa's birthday! I will not tell his age, but he looks about 10 years younger than he is. He took out the saxes, we had pizza and cake, and beers. I tried to play my old clarinet and it was more or less a travesty. We gave dad a nice sweater and Geoff picked out a Carol Kennedy print for him to hang in his fly-tying room.

Cute one of mam.

Dad enjoying the birthday fun, and his new cell phone with a camera.

Me shocking my parents with the unveiling of the tattoo. Let's turn our attention to dad trying to take a photo of it with his new phone. Cute.

Today we got up early to get to Baddeck for more lumber. The front deck is done, but the fencing and side deck are not... So we loaded up lumber and whatnot, and I was able to stop in my favorite stores there and have a cherry smoothie. Yum! I bought a lurvely pair of earrings at Cape Breton Clay (supporting local artists, yo!).

Geoff hanging on a bench in Baddeck.

Millie was hiding in the curtains when we got home, ha!

I'm hoping there's some fun happening tonight. I think I need to get out and let loose. hah!
