Another foster? Already?

That's right. I'm fostering a dog for a friend who couldn't keep her anymore- she has cats and Neela kept chasing them and making their lives miserable. Our cats have their own upstairs condo with live-in maid service (oh right, that's me, crap!) so it's not an issue as long as Neela stays downstairs.

It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride when Neela was dropped off at our house by a couple who tried to adopt her but couldn't keep her for the same reason, last Sunday. I had to leave for Ottawa on Monday afternoon for work, so that left poor hubby holding the bag- with FOUR dogs.

I think Neela is highly adoptable. She's got a great personality and lots of good Sibe energy! She's also very pretty and on the petite side, not like my brutes. She'd make a really nice dog for someone who doesn't own cats!

General winter fun

News. Let's see.

We adopted Kanoa. That's right- we're total, absolute, 100% crazy foster failures. He reached up with his little paws while I was on the couch and stretched to find my face even though he couldn't see me, and gave me a kiss. I was done. All three of them are getting along pretty well. Sometimes Sola and Luna play a bit too rough with Kanoa and I have to get them to settle a bit, but overall it's been great.

Isn't he sweet though?

This is a close up of his eyes. One is enlarged and the other is shrunken a bit. Most people don't notice right away until I tell them he's blind.

The three furry beggars.

My favorite spot :)

Rescue work is proving to be pretty disheartening, especially where I'm working in owner surrender. Sometimes the stories are just too much... And you don't want to hear any more, ever. The cruelty people will show to animals shows absolutely no bounds. I won't subject my one or two readers to the details, but just know that there are horrible people out there with no heart whatsoever.

I've been trying to update the Canadian BDRA site, and I'm NOT happy with the template so far. I will probably change it. the background is also making me squirrely. http://blinddogrescue.ca

Here's a little video of Kanoa though!

I did a photoshoot with Erin! What fun. She made me girly. I looked like a 1940s call girl or some such thing. We also went to Louie's and found some cool junk- old vinyl, a crazy scarf and a tweed belt among other things. This was my favorite photo of the shoot. There might be a few more on her blog.

Work has been a bit hard. Lots of travelling. But overall still love it and committed to being here.

I was in Halifax last week and had an amazing dinner at Il Mercato with Meg! I also FINALLY bought Frye boots, that I only wanted for a million years. They're the loves of my life. Well. I think they're swell. I also found a pretty amazing frock type dress that I was eyeing back in November- but this time it was on sale!

My babies.

We went to the dog park tonight, it was a FRIGID -26.

Tough guy.

My boy :)

My girl :)

My crazy thing!!!

Last but not least... A little video of Luna and Sola playing in the first snow this year :)
